Obituary of Ingrid Christina Renner

Ingrid Christina Renner (Moller), age 61, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on March 5, 2022 peacefully in her home in the loving presence of her spouse, Matthew Renner.

Ingrid was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to Helvia and Knud Moller on November 16, 1960.  The youngest of five children, Ingrid was “a living doll” to her older siblings who helped care for her. Highlights of her childhood in Dominican Republic included trips to the beach house in Guayacanes, weekly Friday night barbecues at home, and Saturday afternoon ping-pong and badminton competitions with family and friends. She attended high school at Carol Morgan School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and graduated in 1978. At a young age, she strived to further her education, and she immigrated to the United States after graduating high school to accomplish that goal. She earned an Associate of Science degree from Muskegon Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Data Processing from Ferris State University. She received a graduate level certificate in executive leadership from The University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler business school.

Ingrid had an accomplished career in the field of information technology.  She started as a computer programmer at Sealed Power Corporation in Muskegon, MI and over the years worked tirelessly to become the Vice President of Information Technology at W.C. Bradley in Columbus, GA.  Her coworkers and employees from her career at W.C. Bradley describe her as “a true professional and a pleasure to work with and work for. She was a trail blazer in a field that was primarily dominated by men at the time. She was incredibly smart, talented, and dedicated to her profession and the people she worked with. She helped those around her get better and smarter.”

Ingrid enjoyed reading, writing, traveling, cooking, and rescuing animals. Ingrid felt inspired by the words of others and published multiple books of curated quotes, including 365 Most Treasured Inspirational and Motivational Quotes and Most Popular Thankful Quotes. One value she instilled deeply within her family was gratitude, and she also shared that value with others by publishing a two-journal series titled My Gratitude Journal and Daily Inspirational Quotes. One of the major joys of her life was to take her family on trips around the world.  They traveled to wonderful places over the years including the Grand Canyon, Disney World, Mexico, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and France. Ingrid was well known for the fantastic meals she created for her family. She never followed the recipe, but had the gift of a chef’s instinct. Ingrid was passionate about animal rescue, and welcomed many cats, dogs, and even birds and squirrels into her loving care over the years of her life.

Ingrid is survived by her spouse of 20 years Matthew Renner in Scottsdale, AZ; her son Ian McSwiggen in Dearborn, MI; her daughter Melina Henderson and husband Samuel in Dearborn, MI; her sister Eva Moller and husband Tom in Tuscan, AZ; her brother Hans Moller and wife Carla in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; her sister Ana Mullaney and husband Scott in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; her sister Karen Thomas in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents Helvia and Knud Moller and brother-in-law Peter Thomas.  Her surviving family and friends describe her as “having a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. No matter what was going on in life, she could see the funny side and her laughter would pull you in like a hug.  She was an amazing wife, Matthew’s soulmate, and they loved each other very deeply. She was a loving mother who was affectionate, dedicated to her children, and always so proud of them. She was kind and giving. She was a beautiful person and loved by all who knew her.”

There will be a visitation at Red Mountain Funeral Home in Mesa Arizona on Thursday, March 10 at 11am. Ingrid will then be cremated. At a future date to be announced, there will be a celebration of life held in her honor in Dominican Republic, where her ashes will eventually reside oceanside (her favorite place to be). The family will be collecting donations for Ingrid’s celebration of life. If you would like to donate, you can do so via Melina Henderson (contact: melinarae@gmail.com).
