Obituary of Kay Phillips
Kay M Phillips, 84, of, Mesa passed away on February 27th, 2022 in Mesa, Arizona.
Arrangements are by Red Mountain Funeral Home in Mesa, AZ.
Kay was born in Osceola, Nebraska to Del and Katherine Richmond on 11/06/1937. She went to high school at Lincoln high school in San Diego, and married Bobby Phillips on June 13th, 1959, in La Mesa, CA. She and Bobby enjoyed a full life of travel and adventure with their two sons, Brett and Greg, living and traveling across the United States. They later spent time living overseas in Italy before settling into retirement in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where they enjoyed many outdoor leisure activities and a vibrant social scene. After Bobby's passing, Kay opened the doors of her home as a place of gathering where she spent much time entertaining and baking for friends and family. In 2016 Kay moved to Mesa, AZ to bask in the desert sun and to be closer to all of her friends and family in the West. As she did everywhere, Kay quickly built a close community of friends and neighbors and truly enjoyed her time spent in Arizona. She worked tirelessly as a wife, mother, and grandmother for her family until her passing.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Del and Katherine, brother Gerald, husband Bobby, and son Greg.
She is survived by her son Brett, his wife Paula, daughter-in-law Lisa, sisters Jackie Starrett and Shirley Phillips and grandchildren Lauren Snow, Joshua, and Alex Phillips.
