Obituary of Nedra Ann May

Nedra Ann May (Nana, Nan, or Nanny to most)passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on January 2, 2022, at the age of 75. She was born Nedra Ann Daniels in Union City, Tennessee to the parents of Carnell and Louise Daniels on October 11, 1946. As a child, her parents moved to Michigan where she attended high school at Northville High in Northville, Michigan. She married Richard Davidson in 1966 and had two beautiful daughters, Neicia Ann and Nina Ann. Richard and Nedra later divorced. Life then took her to Arizona, where she met her true love, and future husband, Francis “Bud” May. They were married on June 11th, 1984 and lived an adventurous and very happy life together. 

Nedra was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and a constant and compassionate donor to the local animal shelters. She was an avid and serious card player and earned the nickname “Book of Hoyle”.She may have been the tiniest person in the room, but her presence was larger than life! She loved to go camping, fishing, and boating with her daughters and grandkids, whom were her whole world. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Francis “Bud” May; two daughters, Neicia (Craig) Heath (Arizona), and Nina (Charles) Corridori(Arizona); and four grandchildren, Jeremy and Madeline Corridori, Emily and Tyler Heath; her stepchildren, Douglas Hemingway (N. Carolina), Angela Hemingway (N. Carolina), Margaret (Ray) Howard (Arizona), Catherine (William) Collins (Tennessee), Tricia (Tim) Bolenbaugh (Tennessee), Brian (Stephanie) May (Florida); and her eight step grandchildren, Reilly Howard, Warnita and Christopher Collins, Kari, Damon and Jaxen Bolenbaugh, Brandon and Breanna May; her sisters Betty Ping (Arizona), Linda Daniels (Arizona), Dawn Hargus (Missouri), and brother Danny Daniels (Washington); along with several nieces and nephews, and her sweet rescue puppy, Roger. 

  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Arizona HumaneSociety, azhumane.org, under memorial and tribute gifts, in Nedra’s name.

A memorial service for Needra will take place on Saturday March 26th, 2022 from 11am to 2pm at Palmcroft Church located at 15825 N 35th Ave Phoenix,Az 85053.
