Obituary of Susan Ellen Ekelman-Storey

Susan Ellen Ekelman-Storey, 69, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on November 25, 2021 in Banner Gateway Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 1150 West Elliot Road, Gilbert, AZ on December 3,2021 at 2:00 pm with Bishop Anderson of the LDS Church officiating. Red Mountain Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Susan was born in Rockville Centre, New York to John and Claire Wendt on May 16, 1952. She went to high school at South Side Senior High school and graduated in 1971 also earning her nursing license as an LPN through the BOCES program at the same time.  She worked as a nurse for 48 years. From being an E.R nurse, to the nurse for the county jails, and lastly doing home health care. She enjoyed music, dancing, sculpting, and taking care of her loved ones. She received Valedictorian in her Nursing school and was a well respected nurse. Susan is survived by her husband, John, children Jacob, Jared, Justin, and Destiny, 5 grandchildren, and 7 siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Claire, and youngest son Judd. Susan is gone but never forgotten and loved by so many.
