Obituary of Lester Iver Lindell

Lester was born on July 24, 1932 at his family’s farm home in Armstrong, Iowa,
to Iver and Meta (Prust) Lindell. He started school at a country school that was
located across the road from the family farm and later transferred to Armstrong
Community School. After graduating from high school in Armstrong, Les joined
the military. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954
and was proud to have served as an honor guard during part of that time.

When he returned home from the service, Les lived in the Armstrong area where
he farmed and sold seed corn. He later moved to Mesa, Arizona where he
worked as a custodian for the Mesa School District until he retired. Lester
enjoyed many hobbies over the years including slow pitch softball, golf, fishing,
and outings to horse and dog tracks and casinos with his friends and family. He
loved watching westerns, sports, and game shows on television. While living in
Mesa, he was a loyal customer in his two favorite cafes where he enjoyed the
good food and friendly staff.

Lester is survived by his daughter, Mary Glasnapp (Mark); step-children, Charlie
Davis (Dawn) and Peggy Askeland;
6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren;
