Obituary of Harold T Coles

Harold T Coles passed away June 13th, 2021, at Banner Baywood Hospital in Mesa, AZ.  He was born October 20, 1952, in Chatham, Virginia, the son of the late Thomas Leroy Coles and the late Melvina Viola Callands.

Harold was fondly known as “Stutters” and was the eldest of nine children. Harold received his education in the Virginia public school system until the age of 13 when he moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to live with his great aunt and uncle where he finished his education at Simon Gratz High School.

Harold began working at Bayox Cigar factory and then went to AARCO welding school.

On June 23rd, 1973, he married his lifelong partner, Patricia, whom he fondly called Duchess, and legally adopted her two children, Robert Michael Stafford, and Latisha Darline Coles. Harold was also into martial arts and was a member of Prince Hall Lodge #48, where he was a 32-degree mason.

Harold left this earth on June 13th, 2021, at 9:23 pm. He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of 48 years, Patricia T Coles, one son, Robert M Stafford, one daughter, one daughter in law, 5 grandchildren, brother, Joseph Coles, five sisters: Laverne Jones, Catherine Stills, Sherrie Brown, Melvina Clark, and Latisher Carter, four sisters in law, aunt Bessie Townes, four brother in laws and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
