Obituary of Jim Harper
James (Jim) Harper earned his heavenly wings on June 6, 2021, after a long battle with the
effects of Agent Orange,
Born May 3, 1950, in St, Louis, MO to James A Harper and Orvellla M
Armstrong,
After a two year hitch in the Army taking to Vietnam in 1970, then Germany in 1971, he moved
to Pinal County in 1971, He began his employment at the then called the Training Center, then
the Arizona State Prison for 10+ years. He changed careers and went to Pinal County as an
Inspector then moved to the City of Coolidge as the Building Inspector. He retired from the Gila
Indian Community as the Lead Project Manager.
He quietly passed away at home with his family by his side, He was preceded in death by his
parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Sally, his daughter LaDonna (Francisco) of
Arizona City, sons James II (Braandi) of Coolidge, Russell (Renee) of Mesa, Kenneth (Kayla) of
Coolidge, Justin (Michelle) of Florence, Aaron (Lericia) Paddock of Mess. Twenty two
grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, Brother”s Ralph (Betty), Kennerh, both from Tucson,
George (Linda) of San Tan, Terry of Coolidge, and several nieces and nephews,
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildrens,
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00AM at the Arizona Veterans Memorial
Cemetery, 15950 N Luckett, Marana, Arizona. (Masks are required)
