Obituary of Lydia Valentino Quiogue

Her smiles and upbeat persona always lit up the room when she walked in. Her eyes had certain twinkle in them that strangers couldn’t help, but smile back when they first meet her. Her quirky ways made us laugh and she had no problem laughing at herself.  She was very kind, loving, selfless and truly had a huge heart and a hearty laugh.

Her name was Lydia Valentino Quiogue.  A great Woman, Mother, the most loving Lola (grandma), family and friend.  She is much loved and she’s a big loss to those whom she left behind.

Lydia went to be with The Lord on Sunday, January 17th she would’ve been 67.   Born in Manila, Philippines on March 8, 1954, she was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Felicisimo G. Quiogue and by her parents Venancio and Eutequia Valentino.

She is survived by her children Karl (Gladys) Quiogue of Philippines ,  Kate Q Valentino of Arizona, and Karmita Quiogue of NYC.  The ones who fondly called her Lola are: Faith, Mark, Sean, Aaron and twins Kristiana and Katerina whom she helped raise from infancy alongside her daughter Kate.

She is also survived by her siblings Norma, Rubina, Zenaida, Aida, Armando,Rodolfo, Edgar, Ronaldo who misses her very much.

Lydia loved living life to the fullest!  She is vibrant and always ready to take on a new adventure and loves being spontaneous.  A great travel buddy, she’s ready to be on the go, which makes us think she may have always had FOMO (Fear of Missing out).  She enjoyed hosting parties, cooking delicious meals that can feed an army and is best known for her endurance in the kitchen even for hours on end.   She loved making smoothies and juices and always tried to live a healthy lifestyle.   Most importantly she loved serving the Lord,  lived righteously  and always doing the right thing by others.   You could say she has lived a purposeful and well lived life in serving the Lord and devoting her time with her loved ones.  She’s a unique soul and the angels are celebrating welcoming her into her new Home.

We will surely miss her twinkling eyes, her kind and loving spirit and her home cooked meals.  We love you Mama Lilet to the moon and back!
