Dorothy Fern Mahernholz-Reutzel

Dorothy Fern Mahernholz-Reutzel, 87, of Apache Junction, Arizona dealt with cancer for over three years and passed away on February 23, 2021, at Mission Palms in Mesa Arizona.

Dorothy was born in Williams, Iowa to her parents Sinus Trampel and Eppie Timmer on March 27,  1933. She was raised on a farm and went to school at Williams School in Williams, Iowa. Dorothy worked in the office at Farm Bureau Financial Services in Fort Dodge, Iowa for many years. Dorothy married Ronald Eugene (Gene) Mahernholz and had one son. She lost Gene, her first husband to emphazema. She married Ervin Reutzel on October 2, 1982 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  She spent 36 years playing the Keyboard in the Erv Reutzel Orchastra all over the midwest from Fort Dodge, Iowa during the summers and all over the Phoenix area during the Winters; Before settling in Apache Junction, Arizona in 2016.

Dorothy is preceded in Death by her Parents: Sinus and Eppie, 1st Husband: Gene, 3 Sisters: Helen, Mary, and Emma, Brother: Andy, 1 step grandson: Josh, 2 step sons: Roger and Gary                                                                                                                                    

Dorothy is survived by her husband: Ervin Reutzel, Son: Mark Mahernholz, 2 Nieces, 1 Nephew, Step daughters: Gloria Brownlee (Dave), Helen Schroeder (Kim), Becky Musser,  14 Step grandchildren, 17 Step great grandchildren.

Celebration of Life is to be determined at a later date and her ashes will be laid to  rest in North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
